Who we are

The Institute of High Pressure Physics Polish Academy of Sciences (IHPP PAS) conducts research in physics and materials engineering, focused on industrial applications.

We are a unique center with comprehensive expertise in nitride semiconductor technology - from GaN crystal growth to advanced electronic and optoelectronic devices.

We also carry out research in areas such as terahertz radiation, nanomaterials for medical applications, superconductors, metal hydrostatic extrusion, and high-pressure equipment.

The Institute is authorized to confer doctoral and postdoctoral degrees and employs over 240 people.
