ADMISSIONS to the Warsaw PhD School in Natural and BioMedical Sciences [Warsaw-4-PhD]

The second round of admissions for the 2026/2027 academic year at the Warsaw PhD School in Natural and BioMedical Sciences [Warsaw-4-PhD] begins on 24 July 2026.

The Institute of High Pressure Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences invites those interested in pursuing a PhD in physics to apply for the following projects carried out at our Institute:

IHPP PAS - Project no. 6.1
Project Title: Epitaxy of InGaN superlattices on relaxed, porous GaN substrates
Supervisor: dr hab. inż. Grzegorz Muzioł, prof. IWC PAN

IHPP PAS - Project no. 6.2
Project Title: Nitride superlattice lasers: design strategies for ultra-high external quantum efficiency
Supervisor: prof. dr hab. Piotr Perlin

IHPP PAS - Project no. 6.3
Project Title: Growth of hBN crystals from metal solutions under high N2 pressure – modeling the thermodynamic properties of Me-B-N systems and experimental verification
Supervisor: dr hab. inż. Paweł Strąk, prof. IWC PAN

Schedule for the second admission round for the academic year 2026/2027:

• 10 July 2026 – admissions announcement
• 24 July 2026 – start of the recruitment process, launch of the recruitment portal
• 7 August 2026 – deadline for applications
• 8 – 24 August 2026 – documents verification
• 25 August – 1 September 2026 – sending out invitations for interviews
• 2 – 11 September – interviews with candidates
• 15 September 2026 – announcement of admission results
