Szkoła letnia dla doktorantów i młodych doktorów SSIE 2026: Zapisy trwają!

Szkoła letnia dla doktorantów i młodych doktorów SSIE 2026: Zapisy trwają!

The SSIE Summer PhD School of Information Engineering (SSIE 2026), will take place in the beautiful Bressanone/Brixen, Italy, on July 6-10, 2026, continuing on a 35-year-long tradition: https://ssie.dei.unipd.it

SSIE is co-organized by Marco Giordani, Michele Rossi, Matteo Meneghini and Francesca Meneghello (Department of Information Engineering at the University of Padova).

The School features two tracks:

  • Track 1 (telecom): New Frontiers of Beyond-5G Networks.
  • Track 2 (electronics): GaN and Related Materials.

Institute of High Pressure Physics PAS (UNIPRESS) will contribute with a lecture given by dr inż. Tomasz Sochacki„GaN on GaN : From Bulk Crystals to Device 2.0 - Substrates, Epitaxy and the New Power Electronics”.

SSIE 2026 Track 2 – GaN and Realted Materials - focuses on an innovative material for next-generation power conversion: gallium nitride. This track provides a comprehensive overview of the entire technology chain, from material growth and characterization to device design, fabrication, testing, and real-world applications. Leading experts from academia and industry will present the fundamental principles behind GaN materials, the challenges of high-performance device processing, and the latest advances enabling more efficient, compact, and reliable power electronics. The program offers participants the opportunity to deepen their understanding through focused discussions and practical insights into device technologies and application-driven design. This track is designed to provide both a solid scientific foundation and a clear perspective on the future of power conversion technologies. The program is available under this link and in the attached file below.

We strongly encourage PhD students and young PhDs, especially those involved in GaN electronics research, to take part in this scientific event.
