Institute of High Pressure Physics

We invite you to make use of old, partly used candles and to support Ukraine. Wax and candles leftovers will be collected in the Institute of High Pressure Physics lobby at ul. Sokołowska 29/37 until April 12, 2023. The candles will then be melted down and transformed into ‘trench candles’ that will go to Ukraine.

What is a trench candle? This is a metal can filled with a rolled cardboard, additionally flooded with wax. Such a candle is not only a source of light, but also allows people to heat or boil water. Taking into account the frequent power outages and problems with heating and electricity supply, such candles will be of a great help.
